Practice Status as at 12th October 2020

 

We still have limited clinical time available; this is due to social distancing in the practice and fallow time, (where a surgery has to remain closed for an hour after any treatment involving drills/air/water before we can go in and clean, ready for the next patient).

In view of this we are still having to manage our diary appropriately,

Our current priorities are:
1) Managing dental emergencies.
2) Risk assessing patients who were cancelled and booking in those who fall into the high-risk category first.
3) Finishing off outstanding treatments.
4) We have opened the hygienist diary 3 days a week and have slots available.

We do appreciate some of you may not have been seen for a while, we are starting to look at patients who were cancelled and try and book you in where possible.

As a practice, we have had to change the way we work as a team, this ensures TVDP is a safe environment for you and us, some examples of our changes are:
1) All staff wear masks throughout the day
2) Social distancing between ourselves
3) Following all the updated guidelines regarding the cleaning of the practice
4) Staff trained in new protocols
5) Health screening of staff and all patients with an appointment
6) No paper forms or records
7) Card payments

Tooth on OpenMoji 12.3 Please attend alone and no more than 5 minutes earlier than your appointment, this will help reduce the number of patients we have in the practice.

Practice Announcement on COVID-19 26/03/2020

We are sorry to inform you that, for the first time, we have had to make the difficult decision to close the practice for the time being, due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
We have been advised by our governing body that are not to carry out any non-essential treatment (such as exams, scalings, fillings, crown preps etc.) and not to carry out any procedures that generate aerosols.

 

Social distancing has also been advised by the Government, and as you can imagine, this is next to impossible to implement in a dental practice setting.

 

We are cancelling all appointments from now until 31st May, at which point we will review the situation and see what our next steps will be.
We are currently contacting everyone who has an appointment booked before this date.

 

As a practice, we have a duty of care to our patients, so will be available for emergencies only.

 

We would like to take this opportunity to remind our patients what constitutes a true emergency:
✅  Dental trauma (e.g. knocked a tooth out)
✅  Significant dental/facial swelling that is worsening
✅  Uncontrollable bleeding from the mouth
✅  Severe dental pain that cannot be managed by painkillers

 

Examples of dental problems that will NOT result in an emergency appointment include:
❌  Dental pain that can be relieved with painkillers
❌  Crowns/bridges out
❌  Broken fillings
❌  Broken teeth
❌  Bleeding gums
❌  Orthodontic problems, e.g. brackets off

 

We will be available on the phone, so please call us on 0161 9803485 for any advice.

 

Please make sure to only phone us and do not attend the practice. We can offer over the phone consultations, and even video calls if necessary.
